Here Is Our Story!
The Walworth County Food Pantry was started in May 2009 by a group of Boy Scouts and their wagons along with their parents collecting food for people in need. Over the years there have been many changes as the food pantry has grown along with the needs of our community. It has been run by volunteers and funded by the generosity of local businesses, neighbors, families and friends. By 2017 it was serving over 400 families each month and was scheduled to close due to the lack of funding and succession plan.
Today, The Walworth County Food and Diaper Bank owns it's own 6,000 square foot building, commercial freezers and coolers, warehouse equipment and 24' box truck and employs a full time General Manager directed by a Board of Directors from the community. There is no debt and funds received are directed towards the purchase of food and diapers and supplies.
